Here at Sci-Fi, our registration is handled by the University's registration system. This means that registration is not handled by us, so please direct these questions to the registration office.
For questions about registration, please call the registration office at 1 (306) 966-5539 or email conference.events@usask.ca. For questions relating to the actual camp itself, please call the SCI-FI Office at 1 (306) 966-7755
For Saskatoon camps, we are located on the first floor of the Engineering building at the U of S which is at 57 Campus Drive (the red brick building). The camp runs from 9-3:30 each day, but we recommend you come at least 15 minutes early on the first day to check-in. The campers MUST bring a nut free lunch. We have arranged for free parking in the parking lot north of Engineering called "Y lot") during drop off and pick up. We recommend entering the U of S Campus via Preston, then taking East Road, this will lead immediately to Y lot on your right after a few seconds, or you could skip that and curve right onto Campus Drive and you then will immediately see the red brick Engineering building on your left.
All of this information and more can be found in the Parent Info Package found on the Camp Information page

Good question! For our summer camp programs, please enter the grade your child is entering next fall. For example, if Jennifer is in Grade 2 in the spring, she is entering Grade 3 in the fall and is therefore old enough to register in the grade 3-4 camps. If you have an concerns, we suggest that you enroll your child in the younger camp group.
If Tim is in Grade 9 in the spring of 2024, he is entering Grade 10 in the fall. He could still register in our oldest camps or he could volunteer as a Counsellor in Training (CIT)).
For our fall & spring club programs, please enter the grade your child is currently in.
Our Instructors at SCI-FI Science Camps are University students with a strong background in science or technology. We hire students from a variety of disciplines - Engineering, Education, Physics, Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, and more - so long as they can demonstrate to us their interest in science and technology and desire to share it with youth. We make every effort to hire a dynamic, fun, and well-qualified staff to work at our programs.
Our Instructors are all certified in CPR-C and Emergency First Aid, and must present a satisfactory

SCI-FI Science Camps is dedicated to presenting science, engineering and technology to elementary school-aged youth in a fun and interactive manner. We do this through classroom workshops in May and June, week-long summer camps in July and August, and Saturday Science Clubs during the school year. By presenting these topics in a fun, hands-on environment, we hope to increase students' science and technological literacy, as well as demonstrate that these topics are both fun and relevant!
We believe that our programs should be accessible to all youth, regardless of geographic location, race, gender, or financial situation. Through the generous support of our funders, we are able to deliver our programs in over a dozen locations across Saskatchewan, and provide financial bursaries to those who would not otherwise be able to attend.
Unfortunately not! The price of a Lego Mindstorms kit is approximately double the cost of camp. Sorry!
Lego Mindstorms kits can be purchased locally at some stores like Toys 'R Us . We recommend calling ahead to check availability. Kits can also be purchased online at www.lego.com.
