General Information:
Who: For Girls and gender-diverse youth in Grade 5 & up! We offer different clubs for girls with different coding experience. In Girls Coding 1, we will learn how to code starting at the very beginning with ozobots and block coding. Girls Coding 2, we will expand upon their previous coding experience. Girls Coding 3 will have the girls work on self guided projects with support from our instructors. All levels will explore AI and it's impact on society.
Info: The Girls Coding and Robotics Club will include a mix of technology and software. Additionally, participants will be able to develop digital literacy skills and learn about computer science in a supportive environment with Actua's Cyber Smart curriculum!
Those new to coding can sign up for Girls coding 1 section and those returning, or with coding experience outside of SCI-FI, are encouraged to sign up for the Girls coding 2. Girls coding 3 is for those that have completed Girls coding 2 or one of our codemakers camps.
When: Friday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30 pm starting on September 19th (Fall 2026) and January 16 (Winter 2026). There will be no sessions Halloween (October 31st) or October 24th or Feburary 20th.
Where: In the Engineering Building, 57 Campus Drive
We will start check-in in front of the SCI-FI office at 6:15 PM.
